The number of shop units that are currently lying vacant in the Vale of White Horse district has reached a five year low. A snapshot survey, which is carried out on an annual basis in the Valeâs market towns, took place in September and revealed that Abingdon, Faringdon and Wantage are all well below the national average when it comes to the number of empty shops.
Wantage will soon have a town centre community space in a refurbished shop unit â and local groups are being invited to put forward ideas about how it could be used.
