“The exhibition of local art now arriving at PLATFORM:ONE is…”
…the latest brilliant example of how arts & crafts, creative, community uses are making a big difference to our town and city centres.
PLATFORM is a really encouraging highstreet story in itself and an inspiration to other places and local teams looking to do similar.
It started as a pop-up community gallery and art space in a shopping centre unit left empty by the departure of a national retail brand.
But Jamie Chalmers and Novae Baghurst at CreweCreates – the driving force behind it – always ambitioned to take on the large, long-empty former Burtons / Dorothy Perkins building opposite…
…and now they have.
Their latest big step is to host this…
“On Friday night we welcomed artists, friends, guests, partners and supporters to the private view of PLATFORM:ONE, our first open contemporary visual art exhibition, bringing together the work of 63 artists from across Cheshire East.
It was fantastic to see the gallery full of artists, conversations and celebrations, with such a wide range of work, ideas and approaches represented under one roof. Most of all, it was brilliant to see so many people come through the doors to celebrate the artists and experience the exhibition together.”
It’d be great to see examples of arts & crafts, creative, community uses making a difference in your town or city centre…
