First into ‘Flashop’ Wantage take next step in town

J and HThe first two businesses to use Wantage’s Flashop pop-up shop are back in town, for a longer stint. Baby & children’s boutique, Cotswold Kids, and independent ladies footwear specialist, Valentina’s Shoe Box, have taken on the adjoining unit – 18 Mill Street – for three months. Both businesses already have shops in Witney, and are looking to Wantage as part of their expansion plans.

Cotswold Kids’ owner, Janette Reed, says: “We’re delighted to be back in Wantage, in such lovely premises. We had lots of great feedback in the first week of Flashop, and hope this will be the start of a much longer-term presence.”

Helena Wohlfahrt of Valentina’s Shoebox says: “We are so pleased to be able to bring our lovely collection of ladies shoes and accessories to the people of Wantage. The three month arrangement runs until the 2nd February. It will really let us ‘test-drive’ the town and we hope to open a new branch here if it works for us.”

Mill Street is conveniently situated just off the Market Place, and can be accessed via Angel Walk, close to the entrance to Sainsbury’s and WH Smith.

The pop up shop, Flashop, in 18A Mill Street has also extended its run beyond the original October close date. It will host a range of businesses until early in the New Year, after Wantage’s Town Team extended their agreement with landlords, Wantage Investments and their managing agents Bushbuy Ltd, which is being facilitated by commercial agent, Neil Wild.
